Improvment of mines in kratov, kyustendil> skopje> trepga and Jejene [Tarihli Bir Rapora Gore Kratova, Kostendil, Vskiip, Trepge ve Jejene Madenlerittin Islahi]
Abstract
In the 15,h and 16th century, The Ottoman State got benefit in a great extend from mines in Kratov, Kyustendil, Novaberde, Trepga and Jejene beside the mines in Samakov and Sidrekapsi in Balkans. In 17th century mines in Kratova, Kyustendil, Novaberde, Trepga and Jejene were managed by ministers inhabited in Skopje and given Vulgitrin region as barley field. After the Sccond Siege of Vienna, miners were distrupted and the systems of mines were aimed to regulation after Treaty of Karlowitz. In this study, in 1703 the person named Mehmed Agha, assigned for inspecting mines in the Skopje region, and the measures taken on his reports that sent to the central government are evaluated.
