Unemployment is seen as a major problem consistently discussed in the economic agenda in Turkey. There is a curiosity about the structure of unemployment that has recently reached double-digit figures again. In this study, it was examined whether unemployment in Turkey can be explained by hysterical effect or nature rate hypothesis. Traditional linear unit root tests and unit root tests with structural break have been applied for the 1982-2017 period series. In addition, nonlinear unit root tests are also included, taking into account the likelihood of non-linearity of series. According to the results of the analysis, both ADF, PP and KPSS tests from the traditional unit root tests and ZA and Lee-Strazicich (2003) structural breaks unit root tests revealed existence of stationary. That is, for the tests mentioned, the natural rate of unemployment hypothesis is valid in Turkey. One of the nonlinear unit root tests, Kapetanios et al. (2003) test showed the hysteresis effect on unemployment
