| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | We aimed to report the treatment of a patient with conjunctival localized tick infestation. A seven year old boy was brought to the emergency department with a complaint of tick bite on his left eye. Biomicroscopically, the tick was seen on the temporal conjunctiva. The tick was removed with a proper technique using a blunt-ended forceps. The species of tick was identified as Ixodes species on microscopic examination. Lid or conjunctival localized ticks may be overlooked during macroscopic examination. Therefore, patients admitted to the emergency department with complaints of foreign body sen- sation in their eyes must be consulted with an ophthalmologist. In addition, it is important to remove the tick as a whole. | en_US |
