The corpus callosum (CC) is a group of white matter tracts that span the left and right cerebral hemispheres. It connects the frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, insular, and limbic lobes and the basal ganglia of the hemispheres to each other. In the medical literature, several fetal callosal anomalies have been reported such as agenesis, hypoplasia, and thin CC, but the thick CC anomaly has seldom been investigated. The clinical outcome of an isolated abnormally thick CC in fetuses remains unknown.
