We read with great interest the article of Xie et al.1 They made a systematic search on hydrocephalus (HCP) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and found 25 studies and some potential risk factors for shunt-dependent HCP after SAH, including age ≥50 years, female sex, high Hunt and Hess grade, Glasgow Coma Scale score ≤8, Fisher grade ≥3, acute HCP, external ventricular drainage insertion, intraventricular hemorrhage, postcirculation aneurysm, anterior communicating artery aneurysm, meningitis, and rebleeding.
