In this study, the novel peripherally tetra 4-isopropylbenzyloxy substituted metal-free (4) zinc(II) (5) and oxotitanium(IV) (6) phthalocyanine complexes were synthesized. Furthermore, the axially 4-isopropylbenzyloxy substituted silicon(IV) phthalocyanine derivative (7) was also synthesized. These novel compounds were characterized by different spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, H-1 NMR, UV-vis and mass. the spectroscopic, photophysical and photochemical properties including electronic absorption, steady state fluorescence, singlet oxygen generation and photostability were studied in toluene.
