In this study, tritium levels in some water sources frequently used by the public in the Bursa province were investigated using Liquid Scintillation Counter. The minimum detectable activity concentration (MDA) for the employed method was established at 1.31 Bq/L. The mean tritium concentration for the 21 samples was calculated as 2.05 +/- 0.47 Bq/L (17.36 +/- 3.98 TU). Additionally, the annual effective dose rates and lifetime cancer risk values associated with the consumption of the studied water samples were calculated. The results show that consumption of these water samples does not pose a health risk to individuals in terms of tritium radioisotope.
